Wither hearts

Wither hearts, they hide,
Underneath someone’s misery
Waiting in silence, hunting
Their prey should be someone unique
Their prey should have what they lack
Wither hearts love the obscure

Wither hearts, they hide,
At the bottom of the glass
Waiting for the smoke to dispel
Their true face should remain a mystery
Their true colours are always the same
Wither hearts love to feed on what they long

Wither hearts, they hide
Just like mine, behind these words
Wither hearts, they die alone
Wither hearts don’t care about trust
Wither hearts don’t care for hopes
Wither hearts are always hungry for more
Wither hearts, like mine, will always cry.
